How do I read the Bible and lose weight, Sherry? Right? Like they just think like, you know, weight loss is just about what they're doing and, um, their behaviors, their exercises, their, what they're eating.

Um, But what I want to show you in this episode is it's also about misplaced affection.

It's something I see in my clients all the time, and I'm not going to give away my secrets in terms of how I have a trained ear to be able to see this in my clients, but I do.

Because while I'm working with people or responding to people in the Seekers Method, I'm asking myself coaching questions.

And that helps me to get to the core of what it is that I'm seeing that a woman can't see because she has some sort of spiritual blind spot.

But it becomes so obvious to me when I'm working with women where there is opportunity for them to possibly have spiritual adultery taking place.

Idolatry, lean in, idolatry outward or inward is spiritual adultery, breaking our commitment to God in order to love something else.

I know that's not fun to hear when we're just talking about eating food, right? But here's what I need you to know about idolatry.

Most women don't know how to spot idolatry on their weight loss journey because most Christians just think of, when they think of idolatry, I'm trying to think of all the things, like you might just be thinking about like a golden calf or like a pagan statue.

But what you can see as you read Isaiah is that he is exposing something so much more subtle that it applies to you and I right now in our lives, even in weight loss.
