Before we dive into the financial side of things, I'd love for our listeners to get to know about you, Phil.

And can you tell us a little bit about your background and what led you into the financial support for women?

Sure.

So my background, I'll kind of tell my story because it kind of all fits together.

So growing up in my house, it was a typical model that we hear quite often.

My father was responsible for the finances.

My mom was responsible for me and my sister.

But here's the thing.

When it came to finances, to say my father wasn't good at it would be putting it mildly.

We had unpaid bills.

We had no credit.

We had no savings.

When I was old enough to drive, I remember having to go to local utilities, phone company, electric company, all that kind of stuff to pay because our services were being turned off because they hadn't been paid.

Oh, wow.

When it was time for me to go to college, I was told, go anywhere you want.

So I decided I was going to go to Duke and I was going to be a doctor.

I went to Duke.

I was a psych major.

But my father didn't pet.

And I did a lot to stay in school.

But at the end, I had met with the president of the university, done all kinds of different things.

But at the end of my junior year, we kind of agreed that, well, I was academically eligible to come back.
