Today, uh, folks, we're gonna talk about, I suppose, the kinds of investments there are out there, some of the things that you really need to watch out for, and I suppose over- overriding all of that is just this idea of diversification.

You know, that if you have all your eggs in one basket and you lose the basket, you lose it all.

So the first one, I think most people would understand it, but we might just touch on it still, its, its main components is, is, like, shares on a, a stock exchange-

... public- publicly traded shares, shares that you can buy and sell in the same day, in the same hour, you know.

So, um, how do you make money on, on these investments? And essentially there's two ways, isn't there? Um, you can be paid a dividend.

At the time, Microsoft was literally the big- the most imp- important company in the world.

Ev- they were everywhere, and they didn't pay dividends until quite late in their, in their cycle because companies might decide to, instead of giving money out to investors in, in the form of dividend, they'll reinvest it, the money, and try to make the company worth more-

And then I suppose the other one is, it's capital gains, you know, whereby you buy a sh- a stock for $100 and it goes up to 120.

So, um, I mean, the, the, the stock exchange, you probably know this better than, than I, Marcus.

You're probably looking at it closer than I am, but it, over time it has just risen and risen, hasn't it?
