So with the DP World Tour season coming to an end, it was one of highs, lows this week with obviously people missing out.
full dp world tour cards which is not nice for anyone but also it takes us to the playoffs in two weeks time a week's time two weeks time which is exciting so we see who will take that top spot obviously some big names in there but some rookies as well with shakara leading the way and after another impressive impressive weekend didn't come in the top 10 i think he was 22nd but picks up points again which is good to see but it's got me thinking how hard actually is golf and does this just prove that the elite elite elite top players are just godlike at golf that they are always number one they're always making the cuts they're always winning tournaments Fischer, who is a great golfer, winning Ryder Cup team in 2010, this year misses out on his SportGP World Tour card, which is not nice.
I've watched videos of him before, which he comes across so well and a top, top golfer.
And like I say, was a Ryder Cup winning player in 2010.
But when you're looking at miscuts, it's their job, the security, the pressure.
Does it just add? Oh, of course it adds a bit of extra to their tournaments.
So does it just go to show how good your Rory's, your Scotty's are? Which is crazy to think.
But yeah, we're going to the playoffs.
5th of November, I think it is.
Which will be great to more... tournaments to go before we end that one and then we move on to the PGA Tour for the waste management I think the first big one is but especially for the Ryder Cup points anyway so we'll be excited to look at that the update for the Ryder Cup points is coming up later in the podcast so stay tuned for that but yeah what do you guys think we know golf's hard but when you're playing for your livelihood as your job it's got to be harder surely it's got to be erm I feel the pressure when I'm playing with my mates for a putt to win a tenner.
So I can't imagine how it is for your livelihood and to be winning millions.
People will say they get paid genuinely slightly.
Yes, they do.
There's no denying about that.
And sponsorships, etc.
But they need to keep that week in, week out to be able to keep the card, stay on tour.
So yes, they might have one win here or there, but does that actually matter? help them when they're paying out for caddies accommodation flights travel all that stuff managers agencies so it's a real real dilemma for them when they're not performing well and if they're falling outside that cut as a lot of players have done, heading back, especially DP World Tour, heading back to Q School in some examples to get their DP World Tour card back.
That did also get me thinking about another podcast, which I'm going to do, is how can we make golf more exciting? I don't know if that's the word, but could we restructure it? I know they spoke about this league system, which I haven't got an idea about, which I will do in a future podcast.
But yeah, it's just...
Although we're moving on to some positives next week with the playoffs, the negatives with the DP World Tour, all those players dropping out, but it is all part of the game.
