Fishing Report 10-8

All right, so our offshore report is going to be for the Hatter's Fleet blown out.

And sometimes the Hatter's Fleet gets blown out while the Oregon Inlet Fleet gets out, and sometimes it's the other way around, depending on the wind.

That all has to do with the way the coast curves there at Cape Point.

But they were blown out.

And they've been having some really good meat fishing down there.

We've been talking about it a lot.

Blackfin tunas, wahoo, mahi, things of that nature.

But they did get a inshore, nearshore fleet out.

And I'm not sure if they're just outside the inlet or just inside the inlet or in the inlet, but they had great big drum fishing.

45 to 50-inch drum.

Me not being a drum person, it just makes me think these are the same drum that are leaving the sound and heading into the ocean maybe.

Um, but anyway, really good for those guys.

That's a lot of fun too.

The Oregon Inlet Fleet did have a few boats out today.

And they had four or five yellowfins, uh, to the boat and maybe 16 to 18 blackfin tuna.

And several boats had wahoos.

I know that was a catch pretty typical of my old friend Jesse on the Biopsy.

And that information, uh, so many of these guys help me out with these fishing reports.

William Howe on The Drifter, really, uh, a top, a top-shelf boat, uh, right there at Oregon Inlet.

His dad and I have fished together for many, many years, Richie Howe.

Really good thing.

Um, didn't have any kind of an inshore report drum-wise for the Oregon Inlet Fleet, but we'll, we'll talk more about that when we get in the backcountry report.
