Not gonna sit here and lie... not a whole lot by way of fishing news from yesterday. I do have a few things to talk about though so I'll give you what I have in this report.
So it doesn't come as news that the Hatteras fleet has been blown out for several days.
It doesn't come as news that the Oregon Inlet fleet has been blown out for several days.
I really haven't heard anything out of Ocracoke, but I'm pretty sure everybody is laying to the dock.
For instance, the Dare County Beach Buggy Association tournament was canceled, and that was coming up this weekend.
There's nothing else that can be done about that because you can't get down on Hatteras.
and that's just really not the kind of business you want to have what did they tell me 720 people coming to fish that tournament um or maybe that is the next tournament the first week of november will be the cape hatteras anglers club tournament that might be the one with 720 people but both of them are big tournaments one has been canceled one we'll have to wait and see but um Just really nothing to report.
There were a few drum caught down on Ocracoke and on the southern beaches down that way.
And the drum love it rough, but if you can't hold bottom with your rig, there's really just no point.
But some people get down on the southern beaches, and they'll pick out some, and today will probably be the day because it'll fall out enough where some of them can get back to fishing.
I was talking to Kara Eakes yesterday, and she mentioned that there was a wide area of drum as far as the ramps go from just north of Buxton all the way down to the inlet at Hatteras.
I think today will be a day when some drum bites will happen, some drum catches will be going on.
At least the people that are there, which will mostly be locals at this point, will maybe get a chance to do a little fishing while we wait for the island to open back up.
