Fishing Report 10-19

Hi.

For starters, there's a lot of weather-related things.

See, anybody, any boat fishing in the ocean was pretty much done.

Nothing going on.

Zero.

Nada.

But keep in mind that on Friday, some boats got out and they had some good tuna fishing off Oregon Inlet.

They had some good tuna and mahi fishing down at Hatteras.

There was a couple days of some excellent wahoo fishing.

That would have been the catch of the week last week.

I know my friend Steve on the Sea Creature had double figures one day of wahoo.

Man, I'll tell you one thing.

You talk about having a party with some good grilled food.

Heck with a pig.

You know, grilled wahoo is one of the best fish there is on the ground.

It has just enough oil in it where it lends itself really well to grilling.

And it's my favorite way to eat some wahoo.

So that was good.

But then, of course, the wind started blowing and there are much bigger things to be concerned with.

than catching a fish, even though that does, for a lot of people this weekend, meant the loss of income for ocean fishing.

It meant the loss of income on the piers, many of which shut down.

It meant loss of income for rentals, hotels, motels, grocery stores, all of that.

Now, when I say that, keep in mind that the folks on the Outer Banks know that this is part of life in the fall on the Outer Banks.

But it doesn't make it any easier.

So anyway, I hate all that had to come to pass the way it did.
