Capt. Marty's Outer Banks Fishing Report & Stories

The winds over the last few days have kept things a little slower than usual, but there are still some things to report on. I'll let you know what those things are in this report.
And it's perfectly dead center in the middle of what we call the fall tuna season.
In addition to that, the mahi have sort of moved out of the area, although they're still catching a few down in Hatteras.
And then we should be seeing some of that light tackle fishing for king mackerel down in Hatteras.
They'll go out and they'll catch... 15 or 20 blackfin tunas, then they'll switch over to a different kind of gear, and they will drift line or fish dead boat for king mackerel, and sometimes they catch some really big ones like that.
So they got that going on, and then, of course, later, as we get well into fall, we'll start seeing a few bluefin tunas showing up.
So that's pretty much all I had to report as far as offshore or nearshore with one exception.
The guys around Hatteras, and maybe this should be in the backcountry report, but around the inlet they had a real good day again on red drum and bluefish, big bluefish, for their backcountry boats.
Now, exactly where I should put them in the fish report, I don't know, but good on them because that was really about the only boat fishing report I had for yesterday.
