The Eight of Sticks, of Wands, of Staves

So what we have is the wand.

For the wand, I had, um, a stick that, uh, forks.

It's a very cool-looking stick.

Not too forked, but...

And then we had a different stick, and we had a bone and a pine cone and a jar full of dead beetles.

It's been out in this forest for many, many years.

So I put it on my altar, a stump altar.

We're at one of those today.

All right, so we have the wand stick pointing north.

Now we gotta figure out which number or royal card.

So numbers Ace through 10, and then Page, Knight, Queen, King.

And in different decks, they'll give those different names.

I'll just stick to the old-school ones for today.

So I'm going to, uh, do a similar experiment to find out which one is gonna be ours, which one of those 14 possibilities.

So I've got a lovely yellowish rock I've just pulled out of the ground.

And we had rain out here in Deschutes National Forest in Central Oregon the last couple of days.

So the bottom part of this rock is damp, damp with soil and water.

I'm gonna use it like flipping a coin.

If we get the damp part, that means we're gonna read one of the royal cards.

If we get a dry part, we're gonna go to the numbered cards.

Okay, everybody, take a deep breath.

Here we go.

Throwing it, following it.

I threw it too far.

Where are you? Okay, we are in the dry part of the rock, and that means we're pulling one of the one through 10 number cards of the Wands.
