But before we get into that, let's talk a little bit about this problem, right? So you decide that you're going to learn how to pronounce a specific difficult sound, right? And then you've gone on YouTube and you've done your research and you found out how to produce it correctly.
And then when you slow down and you isolate it, you can do it.
But then outside of that, you know, in real practice, it just doesn't seem to work.
And that can be frustrating, can't it? It can feel like, oh, I take one step forward and then two steps backwards, you know.
There was specific sound, especially a sound combination.
I just couldn't say.
it without much I'll just tell you what it is there's a sound in Japanese and there's a sound in Japanese and that exists in the word for convenient which is benri but I really struggle to put those two sounds together at the end so I avoided that word at all costs I would never say that word and even now I've practiced it a lot and I still can't get it right so it's It doesn't mean I've necessarily failed.
It just means that that pronunciation is not automatic yet.
In isolation, I can do it, but I can't do it fluently in a conversation yet, right? And that's kind of what we're talking about today.
