Sep 16, 2026 · 34 min · 8 segments
Frank recounts two very different rounds that both finished at 88 and reflects on what makes golf special beyond the score. He breaks down his recent play — driver inconsistencies, better wedge…
And I did do that this weekend, which wasn't sure if it was going to happen because it was another really rainy week in South Florida.
Uh, it's been a while.
It's been a while since we have gotten as much rain as we've gotten over the past couple of weeks.
and the golf course which i mentioned in last week's podcast rolling into this week still a little soggy and like i said i've played there for a few years i have never seen it as wet as it is right now.
Some new water hazards in the fairways that didn't used to exist.
Some areas roped off where you can't take the carts because it is just too muddy.
It certainly affects the game a little bit.
I don't think a ton.
The ball's not rolling out.
If you hit a thin shot or a low liner, look, when it's dry, sometimes you can still get just as much roll as if you had gotten the ball up in the air.
Now, I mean, ball hits the ground and it is not going far because the ground is soggy.
So probably plays a little longer, but again, I don't think all in all it's, it's really impacting score all that much.
So again, played Saturday and Sunday this weekend, both days, early morning tee times in the low to mid eighties, I think to start.
And by the time we finished both days, triple digits.
So when it's not raining, it is hot and I'm looking forward to, I'm looking forward to some, some cooler weather because It wears on you.
It really does.
By the time, again, you make the turn onto the back and I think get into those final few holes, everybody's feeling it.
It is warm.
I thought this weekend hit the ball relatively well.
My driver, not as well as I've been hitting it.
I guess that's to be expected.
Had a really good, probably four to six weeks of driving the ball and it started to falter a little bit.
I'm not sure why that is.
It's not terrible, just a little off.
In some ways, I think the more that I build confidence the harder I begin to swing and that begins to create some issues.
