Today I'm solo so you've just got me and today I want to call bullshit on something.

Somewhere along the way, we decided that being busy is a sign of executive success.

I get really frustrated when I hear that there is a lack of leaders in the pipeline wanting to step into leadership roles because they have a perception that leaders are absolutely flat out, working back to back, have no time to do anything else in their lives.

And so I think, in fact, being known as the executive who always is flat out, who's always rushing and always skidding into the room at the last minute might be one of the worst reputations that you can build.
