I want to start today's episode with something I jotted down on my whiteboard along the days leading up to today when I usually record on Thursdays.

I wrote... reflection arrow to meaning and arrow to connection and arrow to aliveness.

What's up, you baby? So if you reflect, you start to understand something that maybe you didn't understand before.

and this understanding gives you meaning and meaning is what allows you to feel connected and what I mean here is that you feel connected to yourself to your own experience and and that this connection is what can create a sense of aliveness.

Would you agree that most of us skip the first step? Would you agree that we desire this sense of aliveness without the reflection? I mean, look, it's really possible, right? In many cases, if we just offer ourselves presence, being present for our lives, it can be true.

But how often are we able to be fully present? Presence would allow us to feel connected.

And when we feel connected, what we're doing is being truly here in the moment for whatever is in front of us, for whatever is experienced by us or felt within us.

A Russian-speaking friend of mine described it as a, he said, a neutral word, a feeling, carrying, the feeling of carrying the weight of life on our shoulders.

And so I'm thinking, Tosca could be, be maybe a reflection of what the experience of reflection could feel like in our bodies.

That comes from being a person in a body that cannot live on the high all the time.
