It's a topic that has come up multiple times through recording various episodes.

Partly because I've experienced it in my own life, actually, between my first daughter and my second daughter.

Something I want to talk about is the idea that your perinatal trauma is not less than just because somebody else experienced a more severe situation of perinatal trauma.

I developed a fever while I was in labor and that meant she was born with a fever and I was GBS positive at the time as well.

But I remember even my mom making a comment about the IV and how that was hard for her to see a picture with an IV in her hand.

And then a few days later, when I was maybe five or six days postpartum, I think, I developed endometritis or an infection.

And if you listen to the episode about that story, the ER doctor was actually going to send me home, but it was my OB who decided that I needed to be readmitted.

And obviously, when you have a newborn, you don't even really want to go to the ER, much less be readmitted to the hospital.

I mean, the good thing is because it was an obstetrics women's issue, my baby was allowed to stay with me.
