Executive General Manager of the Big Bash League Alistair Dobson says that feedback from players is helping the WBBL maintain their status as the best women’s T20 League in the world.

Yeah, people can expect what they've come to love from the WBBL, which is amazing athletes and amazing cricket, but equally a great time at some of our best venues around the country.
We've seen women's cricket go from strength to strength, not just in Australia but overseas as well, and we see that with other nations improving quite a lot and we see so many really talented internationals coming.

Yeah, I think Australia's really led the way globally in terms of early investors in the women's game and we've seen the value of that and we've seen the outcomes of that with the number of World Cups our team wins but also importantly the strength of the WBBL on the global stage underpinned by the amazing Australian players we have and and the best overseas players from around the world.

I mean, I think in terms of continuing to be able to develop that, it's about the ongoing investment at community level right through our pathways and then into competitions like the WBBL, which is really about the best playing the best, which is obviously where they make their mark.

Yeah, I think it's making sure that first and foremost that our community environments are really accessible, that they're welcoming, that they're affordable and that they bring together the community.

And whether that's boys or girls playing cricket together in the community environment is really where it starts.

That's coaching programs, that's environments, the cultural elements within our community clubs.

And then you just really need really clear pathways for those players that want to continue to play the game together.

through their lives, whether it's a community involvement or into the elite level.

And from a women's cricket perspective, that's making sure that our state programs are well-resourced and have appropriate backing behind them right through to the WBBL.

But ultimately, it starts at community level, and that's, I think, where the bulk of our investment and focus often goes.

Obviously, we're very fortunate to have great broadcast partners that, both on a free-to-air and a pay TV perspective, bring our competition to the country and around the world.

We have great TV ratings and more primetime games this season than ever before, which means more people will be able to watch.

And then, obviously, from a crowd perspective... equally is important and we've got we've got targets at each of our venues and with each of our clubs on that a big part of that is more games being played on weekends and importantly a real focus on affordability this year so you know we're expecting growth on both both those measures this year and our clubs are committed to that I think equally importantly from us a measure of for us every season is the the experience that our players have and that the players that come from around the world and the great Australian players that are in the WBBL have as good an experience as they can because ultimately for us, if they're enjoying themselves and having a good time, they play well and put on the best show possible.
