Managing money isn't always about having more of it. Sometimes, simply understanding where you are and where you're heading can make an enormous difference. In this episode of Behind the Books, we're…
So many people assume that financial stress comes from not earning enough.
So from everything you've observed, do you think it's more often a visibility problem because they don't know how much they're going to earn or where their money is going to more than an income problem?
I think it depends because for a lot of people, particularly with that rising cost of living, the numbers really don't add up.
So someone might actually be okay, but because they don't know what bills are coming or what they're spending or what the next month looks like, every decision feels risky.
And I often think of that lack of visibility like crossing the road blindfolded.
Can you imagine how that feels? You know, you step out, you can't see, you're just hoping for the best.
Yeah, I don't have Pocketsmith, but seriously considering it right now.
Yeah.
But even though I'm not a bookkeeper, like I love good
spreadsheets.
No, we're not bookkeepers.
We're not.
Yeah.
We're the cheerleaders.
It's a running joke in my house.
Like I, my husband will ask me something and I'll go to my spreadsheet.
Because I have to, I also suck at math, so I need something to help me with like the adding and everything.
