How do you market a spiritual business without overcomplicating your message or feeling overly salesy? In this episode of Seek & Surrender, we share practical marketing strategies for Reiki…
[gentle music] The main thing I think with marketing spiritual businesses is that we love to overcomplicate our services.
[laughs] And the biggest thing is getting people to understand clearly what you do in the most simple way, right? Yeah.
Um, 'cause confused people don't usually buy.
No. Mm-hmm.
And if working in this, like, in- industry has shown me anything, it's like...
Like, when I have certain sessions with people and you tell them, "Okay, just lay down, relax, breathe," they're like, "I don't know how." And it's like, okay.
[laughs] I've been in this for a really long time.
Mm-hmm.
And things as simple as that is hard for people to understand or know how to do.
And we love to be told what to do, too, 'cause that's helpful.
So yeah, I c- this topic is so helpful because it's like, I think when you're in your realm for so long and then you try to explain it to people, you kind of sometimes forget how the simplicity is really important- Mm-hmm ... for people to understand from, like, the ground up.
Yeah, and it's, it's also tricky because we know the value that people can get from it- Mm-hmm ... like a, a simple healing.
But trying to explain that to someone who has no idea what Reiki even is, sometimes it's a little tricky.
And also everyone has their own definition, so- Yeah ... you never know.
Like, people could have had what they thought was Reiki, it might have been different, or, like- Mm-hmm ... whatever your service is.
Like, since everybody's take on it can be so unique, they might walk in thinking one thing and being like, "Whoa, this wasn't what I expected." [laughs] Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And one easy way to kind of make it more simple is to stop leading, uh, in content with your modality.
Instead, lead with a specific problem that your ideal client might be dealing with, right? So finding ex- uh, specific examples of something they might be struggling with, like a specific problem, and building your content around that.
I think that's gonna atta- uh, attract people that might be more interested or ready to, um, take what you offer, if that makes sense.
Yeah.
No, that makes perfect sense.
It's like how, how can this help me specifically? Mm-hmm.
