Topics include: • Supporting someone who feels afraid without dismissing their feelings • Preparing for costumes, unfamiliar experiences, and fear of the dark • Creating family safe words, signals, and exit plans • Helping kids and teens set boundaries and handle peer pressure • Planning sensory-friendly celebrations and alternatives to trick-or-treating • Using breathing, grounding, and quiet spaces to manage overwhelm Whether you love Halloween, prefer a gentler celebration, or choose to sit it out, this conversation encourages you to listen to your needs and give others permission to do the same. These family strategies extend beyond Halloween, helping build communication, confidence, and respect for each other’s differences. What helps you or your child feel comfortable during Halloween?
