She's an advocate, founder and the executive director of the youth-led organisation Teach Us Consent.

Kontos has previously led a successful grassroots campaign to make consent education mandatory in schools.

And now she's leading a new campaign for social media companies to give all Australians the power to choose to opt in to algorithms driving our social feeds.

She spoke this week at the National Press Club about the Fix Our Feeds movement and argues that this solution could help address the structural forces influencing misogynistic behaviour, particularly among young men.

Contos' message is being heard at the highest levels of government and at kitchen tables around the country.
