A few little snippets to discuss before we focus on the headline act for this episode. Scott and Matt discuss the imminent opening of some new holes at Newcastle Golf Club, with the work by Scott…
indeed but first a little bit of news this week uh really exciting in the next few days golfers are going to start playing the first of the new bob harrison and scott champion holes at newcastle And I'm excited to get up the M1 at some point and be one of those golfers because they look sensational.
Yeah, we've been following this slowly but surely through Scott Campbell's photography and a couple of little updates from Newcastle Golf Club online.
And they're finally going to be able to take some divots out of some new holes, which will just be fantastic.
And not an enviable task trying to match that old bunker aesthetic and the old appearance of... that architecture and construction with something that they would put into the ground in this day and age.
But from some of the pictures I've seen, it looks like Bob and Scott and the construction crew there have done a really good job of that, which is pleasing.
They've been quite faithful to the overall approach and style and strategy of the existing holes that have been given a facelift.
A lot of the new stuff is on more adventurous kind of dunes land, so a bit more green shaping probably isn't out of place on those.
But I think it's the new 15th is short for like 260, 270 from the up tees, 195 to carry the bunker, you know, nice wide green entry, like all good...
All good scales and distances and allowances for golfers like you, golfers like me, to be able to have a dip and really take on that drivable four.
I think a lot of modern drivable fours are drivable only in theory to the mere model.
But I think Bob and Scott look like they've done some really kind of democratic work there that everyone's going to be able to enjoy.
