The township of Port Fairy received a visitor boost to start spring on the weekend.

Gardens Oval in Port Fairy hosted the Hampden League Preliminary Final, bringing thousands from across the southwest into the town.

While there was plenty of action on the ground, there was also a spill over into town, with lots of people in the CBD and at the market at Railway Place.

Myra Murrihy said the facilities of the Gardens Oval and the work of the volunteers at the Port Fairy Football Netball Club meant the impact of the day was maximized.

So they're going to kick things off in Canberra on March 2nd before going to Newcastle, Sydney.

They're actually playing Port Fairy Folk Festival as well, randomly.

Tweed Heads, Brizzy, Melbourne, Adelaide and finishing off in Perth at the Astor Theatre on March 18th.

And I love this because they're really leaning into the nostalgia of the 90s by having Ella Hooper from Killing Heidi be a special guest on the headline date.

We did Gibson Steps, 12 Apostles, London Bridge, Bay of Islands, The Grotto.

We stayed in, so we went through Torquay, but we stayed in Lorne, Apollo Bay, Port Campbell, Port Fairy, and Daylesford.

And yeah, so I feel we did a lot, but dead set, you could do that in, you could do that in a day, but it would be horrendous.

And you did it over what, five days?

As a pillion, your job is to sit back and take it all in.
