These 3 Things Decide Whether You Ever Improve at Golf!

You know, probably a lot of it is, um, the controlling of expectations.

You and I were talking about that.

Like, I think the golfer coming in, taking a lesson thinks, "Oh, they're just gonna give me one little thing and I'm off to the races for the next two years."

Yeah, it's like, you know, when you take your car in to get fixed, let's say flat tire.

When you leave that appointment, you don't expect to have a flat tire anymore.

Yeah, you're not gonna be like, "A little bit flat next time-"

Right

... and then, like, a little bit... [laughs]

Right.

Yeah.

Yeah.

[laughs]

Exactly, yeah.

It's a little less flat when you leave.

Um, but, you know, so when we go in a golf lesson, I'm, I'm hitting it out of bound- I'm hooking left, I'm hitting it out of bounds left.

I think a lot of folks will expect the same solution.

"Okay, I'll leave this lesson, left is no more of a hook." Doesn't work that way, 'cause unlike a car tire, we've gotta change a motor pattern, and those don't really change overnight or within an hour's lesson.

A lot of it depends on the lesson that s- that being...

Or what needs to change.

Right.

We've said it, you know, some lessons you give somebody and it takes right away 'cause it's small.

It's ball position, it's you're standing too far away.

Right.

Your alignment got off.

That, that, that's a fast way to change a golf swing.
