Kaitlin started out as a swimmer. These days, she's an Ironman finisher—but the road between those two points is where the real story lives. In this episode, Kaitlin walks us through her journey…
But before we get to today's guest, I want to start where we always start, which is a check-in.
So here's what's been on my mind this week.
I've been filled with a lot of gratitude over the last couple weeks or so.
Whether it's people checking in on me with some of the issues that I've been going through, seeing the progress that I've seen my coachees make over the last couple of months.
Those of you that have messaged me just words of encouragement or those of you that say that I inspire you, it means so much to me because never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have a platform where I would have people who would, for some reason, listen to the random things that I say on the internet.
And I do say some random things sometimes.
So I've just been really grateful for the opportunities that I've had come my way over the past two years since I started posting content.
And I'm really looking forward to where things are going in the future.
I have a couple announcements lined up and I'm excited to share them with you.
I just can't share them with you yet.
And I want you all to know that no matter how many followers you have, no matter how fast you are, what your finish time is for whatever race you run, whether it's a mile all the way up to 100 miles,
and no matter
how long you've been running for, I will always be in your corner.
and I will always be here to support you and support your running journey so that you can become the best runner that you can be, both from a performance standpoint and from just an overall mental and psychological standpoint.
I know that social media at times can be very demeaning and can really make the sport of running feel daunting because so many people post these either outrageous times or they post these finished times that are just, they might seem just completely out of reach from what you're capable of at the moment.
And it can really deter you from wanting to go out there and run.
I've been one of those people.
I have seen a number of individuals post about these just astronomical times that I wish that I could hit.
And it makes me feel like, especially when I see it after I run my races, that I'm not good enough at what I do.
And I need to remind myself that everyone's journey is unique to them.
It's special to them because it's your journey and no one else's.
And that we have so much more room for growth that what we might think is impossible today could seem could actually be achievable tomorrow.
So I just wanted to quickly talk about, you know, some of the just the the overall gratitude that I've been feeling towards towards just threads and just towards all of the meaningful people that I've met over this last two years while starting to create content.
And I'm especially grateful for this podcast and the people that I've been able to interview and speak with because each person teaches me a little bit more about myself and inspires me to want to get out there and run when I just don't want to at all.
because their stories are so powerful and there are so many things that I might take for granted
