In this episode of the Armed and Anointed Podcast, Ashley discusses the concept that resistance doesn't mean something is wrong, but rather indicates movement toward one's calling. She explored…
So I've got a few different points that I wanna go over today, starting with the start of something will always feel unstable.
And I'm actually at the start of something again as I restart my business and I have been feeling unstable of like, ooh, okay, yeah, like, things work a little bit different and I don't really remember how to do this.
But when we're in those unstable parts and resistance comes up, it's the easiest time to dip out.
It's the easiest time to be like, "Well, I'm just gonna call it." Because one, you're not attached to the outcome yet, right? Like, you can't really be attached to something that you haven't experienced.
So, like, if God's calling you to do something, you know, I'll use myself as an example.
If, if God's calling me to start a podcast and, you know, I haven't had the success yet or I haven't had people, like, have their life changed by it yet and it starts to feel hard and I'm unmotivated or maybe I'm, like, gaslighting myself or whatever, it's gonna be super easy for me to stop at the beginning because I'm not invested in it, right? I'm not like, "Yeah, no, this is definitely, like, I'm sure this is where God's calling me.
It's gonna be maybe you're having a hard time finding your direction of what you're talking about or you're not able to see the path which, honestly, like, I don't think that we ever should really fully be able to see the path.
I find for myself when, when I can see how everything unfolds, I know I'm walking in my plan and not God's and that's kind of how I check myself with that of like, oh, I can see all of the steps which means that I'm walking, like, I'm planning it all.
I absolutely would not have known that that, you know, step was gonna lead here and starting down that path was gonna lead to this thing." So, like, even looking at starting this podcast, like, this podcast came out of the fact that five years ago, almost six years ago, I started a network marketing company and it strengthened my voice and I started to train and I started to talk and it led to this.
Like, I wouldn't have been able to see that, right? So starting something is going to feel unstable when you can't see where the path unfolds, okay? A lot of times we'll start to gaslight ourselves on the path if we faith- face resistance when we're at the beginning of something.
Um, I've done this to myself a lot where God will call me to do something and I'm like, "Okay, yeah" and I step into obedience, like, pat on the back and then I'll feel unstable and it like I can't feel the direction or I'm not getting approval here or is this right? And then I'll be like, "Did God really call me to do this?" And I'll start to gaslight myself.
And so you really need to hold tight to the fact that resistance can come in the form of uncertainty when you're not stable in those beginning steps.
Just whatever you're gaslighting yourself into right now, I'm just gonna cancel that.
