In this episode of the Armed and Anointed podcast, Ashley discusses how to recognize and respond to God's calling in one's life. She explained that calling isn't always about clear direction but can…
And we are gonna be talking about how do you know that God is calling you and what to do next today.
And I actually had a life, a life, uh, conversation bring this up this week, and I was talking, you know, with somebody, and they were, they were saying...
I was kind of encouraging them, and I was like, "It's time to take a step," like, "I can see this." And, um, something that's [laughs] something to think about with the gifts that God gives you, so whether you have the gift of, like, discernment, of faith, of healing, of prophetic, of knowledge, of whatever it is, um, is knowing when you're being asked to use it.
And so for me, I have a prophetic gift, and prophetic gift is really, it's just, like, knowing something, right? It's like, "Oh, I can see this.
I know it." It often, like, real- comes with, um, discernment of being able to, like, read people really well.
But in this conversation, there are times when I'm like, "Okay, I have this information, and I shouldn't use it yet." And sometimes God's saying, like, "Tell them." Like, "Give them the push.
I gave you the information for a reason." And so in this circumstance, I was talking with them, and I was like, "It's time to take a step." Like, "God is asking you to do something here." Like, "You can't just sit here anymore." Like, "You need to move." And they got a little frustrated with me 'cause they're like, "Don't you think, like, I wish God was calling me somewhere? Like, He's not.
If I had the information, I would make a move, like, I would go." And he's like, "I just feel so frustrated in my life right now when, like, this, this can't be it." And I looked at them, and I was like, "That's the feeling.
That is exactly what God calling you feels like." And so I wanna break down a few things about calling today.
Um, going over, like, calling isn't always direction, okay? There's other things that come first.
Uh, we're gonna go through the cost of comfort when you step into your calling.
Willingness, and then touching on the freedom that comes from moving in calling, and then of course, like, what to actually do next because that's one of the main things from, like, everybody talks about calling, and I know I talk about calling a lot.
But, like, how do we move if we don't know how God is calling us, if we're not sure of what that direction is? Like, how do we actually move in this? And there's a lot of, you know, spiritual language out there, but we need some tactical steps in it as well.
So we're gonna go over that today, talking about how do you know God is calling you and what to do next.
