Ingrid Flores, CEO, Elara Spatial, said AI and computer vision can help insurers resolve property claims faster while giving adjusters more time to focus on the human side of the claims process.
So Ingrid, for those who may not be familiar with Alara Spatial, what problem did you see in the property claims process that led you to create the company and what are you trying to change?
A couple of Christmases ago, I was making dinner and then we transported everything to my sister's place, you know, so I'm trying to move pots and pans with everything and I dropped my phone and I didn't realize it so I lost it.
I lost my iPhone and I was freaking out because I wanted to send messages to my friends and you know all that.
And in less than 10 minutes, I got a response from AppleCare saying that my claim had been approved and that they were going to send me a phone.
So I thought, wow, that's what insurance should be like, right? And then in January, when I started working at Ellara, One of the first things I learned was that when something happens in your house, it takes at least 30 days for you to get that solved.
And I thought that's just not possible with the technology that we have these days.
And I wanted to make sure that we accelerate the process for claims resolution as much as we can so that we can bring that kind of peace of mind that I experienced to other people on a much larger scale in their houses.
