Do Radio Hosts Need Twitter?

What's fascinating is, like, Mike Valenti, who I work with now with Boomer- Yeah ...

he made- he told me this.

He made the decision, I think like 10 to 15 years ago already, he's done with social media.

He's not doing it.

And you'd think for someone in, in our industry who's a big name, who's still relatively young, he's not in his 60s- No ... that he could just disconnect from it.

Like, he's still trying to grow his career, and he just completely is off it.

It's fascinating to me.

And he says it's everyone told him, "Oh, you're gonna fail.

You're not gonna be able to succeed," and he's, "No, I made this decision," and he's doing great for himself.

I just wonder how.

Yeah.

How old is he? [tsks] I have no idea.

I would- Yeah, me either.

40? Late 40s, I would guess.

Late 40s.

He's, uh- I think so.

Mid to late 40s.

Yeah, he does not look older.

Yeah, no, he's definitely younger than my parents, but I think he's a little older than Gio, I would guess.

So he probably- Okay ... has a producer who's watching- Yes ... for breaking news.

And really, that's all you need.

Like, you don't need to be engaged in social media all the time.

And the same stuff you're gonna get on Twitter, you're gonna end up getting on Instagram anyway, or TikTok anyway.

If it's big enough news, it's gonna make it to all those platforms.

So you don't really need to be on Twitter.
