I always love when my husband, Ryan, joins me. He's back for a conversation about something we’re both trying to get better at: being present for the life we’re living right now. So many everyday…
Ryan BiegelGuestI was thinking about we are like heading into the holiday season, which I know is your very favorite time of year.
You have brought me into loving the holidays because, you know, I didn't used to.
So I've been thinking a lot about gratitude because this is the time that we should really be paying attention to all of the positives that we have in our life and giving thanks for that.
And I think you and I over the summer, the end of the summer, had... talked about this a lot because we lost a very dear friend of ours very unexpectedly and it put things in perspective and made us think a lot about living in the moment and not knowing when things could change because that changed so quickly and so unexpectedly and appreciating the life we're living right now, instead of always thinking about the past or looking towards the future, is to appreciate this that we're in right now.
And all of those little everyday things that we long for in the future, you know, wishing you could go back.
Like we sit around, we look at old pictures of Iris and miss those moments, the moments of chaos and losing sleep and all of that.
I was thinking like, what about our life right now? Will we miss in the future that maybe is like a stressful moment or a chaotic moment? Like I used to always think we had the stroller sitting next to the front door and thinking like, oh, I can't wait till this stroller isn't sitting here because it's always in the way and having to carry it down the stoop to the street.
