Ep 58 - Backyard World Champs - UK Team - Lizzie’s backyard back stage pass

No.

And it's interesting because most people have crew.

There was a couple of people who came without crew.

So Rob, he's never been, as far as I'm aware, he's never been crewed.

I think someone did try and crew him before.

And after about three yards, he said, thanks very much, but no, thank you.

So Rob is very much likes to be uncrewed.

And then another chap called Dave, he didn't appear to have any crew whatsoever.

I ended up stepping in for him.

But it was so interesting seeing all the different crew setups because it doesn't matter what ability runner you are, you can still learn from looking at everyone's crew setups.

And some people were so organized.

They had their...

So James Luxton's team, they had a purpose built floor.

So they had a rubber mat in and then on top of that was the liner of a tent.

So they designed that floor specifically for the event.

Then they had their own Wi-Fi.

They had heating.

They had every single bit of kit was in a clear shoe rack and it was all labelled.

And they had a spreadsheet there.

I mean, I keep a spreadsheet for my races, but the level of detail on that spreadsheet was just...

It blew my mind every time I went into their crew area.

It felt like I was walking into someone's home.

It even smelt clean.

It smelt fresh and clean.

And they were even measuring his urine.
