Carey RothschildGuestNicole DawsonHostI'd like to start by helping listeners understand how someone came to care so deeply about the work that they do.
So you've spent much of your career in sports and orthopedic physical therapy, and then your work expanded into pelvic health and eventually in menopause.
Tell me a little bit, how did that evolution happen and what made you start paying attention to hormonal health differently?

I think that I originally got into the world and space of pelvic health in and around the time of the childbearing years, for me personally, and also for my friends and colleagues.

And I was interested in the hormonal changes just that happened during pregnancy and during the postpartum period.

special place for female athletes in my physical therapy career in terms of sports and orthopedic injuries.

And now that I'm approaching 50, I think I'm also in this space where there's a lot happening in that space between the postpartum timeframe that it's actually maybe a little bit similar to what's happening during the time period of perimenopause and postmenopause.

And so a little bit personal, but also a little bit of clinical with my own patient populations and my friends and colleagues.
And oftentimes it is, it's something maybe happening in ourselves or people around us that they look to us as experts, right? And they're like, what in the heck is going on here? And you're like, I don't know.
