One of the questions that kept coming up around conversation was Kelly in the wildcard.
What did I think about that? How did I feel about watching him still surf in events? I think that's a really interesting topic because my personal opinion was, I think it was time for him to share the spotlight with someone else.
Now, I understand from a media perspective and a brand perspective, putting Kelly in the draw is a huge ordeal.
People are going to want to watch that, so I understand from that perspective.
I don't mean any offense to Kelly, but I'm just thinking, if I was in his position, what would I do? And if I had 11 world titles, heft in thousands of events, won hundreds of events, whatever...
I would be using that spot, especially if I owned, if I had a brand like Kelly did, I'd be sponsoring athletes and try and push them in a better direction.
I think it was obviously he did some really incredible things still at the age of I want to say he's 54 now.
So I just personally would have loved to seen someone else sponsored by adenone i don't even know if they sponsor that many up-and-coming athletes but it'd be cool for them to sponsor an athlete and put them in the event so that's kind of my take on the kelly thing and then also just the event itself was pretty insane it was pretty tricky conditions i think it was i think all the athletes in that event really stood up and Made the best out of all the conditions.
