Fr. Chad Ripperger Explains How Guardian Angels Speak to You

So the first thing that he explains is that he kind of reframes the whole topic on angels, how they don't have bodies.

So when one angel wants to talk to another one, there's no actual sound involved.

There's no physical mechanism at all.

It is pure intellect talking to intellect.

One angel thinks of another and wills to communicate, and God, who infuses knowledge into angelic minds as events happen, lets the second angel know the first one wants to talk.

The second angel can then turn his attention toward the first, the same way that you might choose to listen to someone or tune them out, and once he does, the conversation happens directly mind to mind.

Now, this is the part that I actually wanted to talk about, because that exact same mechanism is available to us.

Prayer, at its most basic definition, is lifting the mind and the heart to God.

So when you pray, you are doing the same angelic thing.

You are directing your intellect toward a spiritual being and communicating with your mind.

And Father Chad Ripperger is explicit that this works with your guardian angel, too.

You can mentally direct your thoughts to your guardian angel and ask for something specific, and the same mechanism that God uses between angels applies here.

Your angel becomes aware that you wanna communicate and turns his attention to you, and then can act on what you're asking.

So he gave an example from his own ministry that I wanna walk through in full, because it kind of shows exactly how this plays out.

So he was in an airport about to board a flight, and he got a call from a woman that he had been working with who was possessed, and she told him that she was pinned and couldn't move, and something that had happened to her before during sessions.

Her assistants got on the phone and confirmed that they couldn't budge her, and Father Chad was literally handing his boarding pass to the gate agent at that moment, so he couldn't do anything physically.

So he did the only thing available to him.

He mentally directed a request to what he calls the guardian angel of his priesthood and told him to go help her, and then he got on the plane.

An hour later, he lands.

He calls her back, and she is still pinned.

He says a couple binding prayers over the phone, and immediately the demon releases her.

She hangs up abruptly, calls him five minutes later, and explains that she'd hung up because she hadn't been to the bathroom in five hours, and then she asks him directly if he had sent the guardian angel of his priesthood to her.

He hadn't told her anything about what he had done, but she had said that the angel appeared to her and held her hand through the entire episode.

Now, that story isn't in scripture.
