Laser and IPL treatments have long been an important part of aesthetic practice, offering practitioners a wide range of treatment options for concerns including pigmentation, vascular lesions, hair removal, and skin rejuvenation.

While many practitioners focus on choosing the right device, patient safety depends on much more than technology alone.

Training protocols, risk management, and a strong culture of safety all play a critical role in protecting both patients and clinics.

Joining us today is Dr Samantha Hills, clinical director at Lynton, honorary lecturer at University of Manchester.

Sam oversees Lynton's clinical and training programs, and has spent more than two decades working in laser safety, education, and research.

She's a faculty member for the British Medical Laser Association, a registered laser protection advisor, and has contributed extensively to laser education through publications, university teaching, and practitioner training.

In this episode, we'll discuss why laser safety is about competence rather than compliance, explore the evolving regulatory landscape, and look at what clinics can do to provide a safer and more confident laser services.
