🌍❤️ A word for the whole world! A powerful John 3:16 message shared on International Sunday. Press play and be reminded of God’s incredible love!
Adelaide Heward-MillsHostIt's been a International Thanksgiving day to honor our missionaries and also to celebrate International Sunday, reflecting the mood and the theme of our service.
It has been to look at all the missions God has graciously allowed us, to also look at not just what has been done, what lies behind us, but to look at what lies before us.
Today, as I sat in the service, it was announced that we are in 90 countries, and then I remembered that during COVID, my husband had continuously shared with us the vision of sending the gospel to 190 nations.
It's been a wonderful time seeing our various missions and the caliber of missionaries that are serving all over the world.
The service featured on the great verse that even unbelievers know, John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Now, a lot of light was thrown on the fact that it is God who was loving us, not just any mere person, and the world celebrates a lot of great people, but the greatest of them all is God.
So for God Almighty to reach down from His throne in heaven to measly people like human beings on earth is the greatest and most important person reaching out to us.
Even married people sometimes say, "I will go wherever you go, and I will be wherever." You know, when we are saying our vows, we say for better, for worse, but many of us come to the place where even in a relationship, when you find something about somebody you are about to marry, people usually will back out because they've seen some imperfections.
He so loved us that in spite of our flaws, our weaknesses, and our failures, He reached out to us.
Some of us can only love our own family, our own tribe, our own clique of friends.
But God loved the world, not just what He knew or what He was familiar with.
Even when we have special occasions, we sometimes say, "This card admits one," because we don't want to be overwhelmed by the attendance of uninvited guests.
But God, in this case, calls all of us to a banquet, and everybody is invited.
