Preached during the live Honey On My Lips episode Aired on 12th September, 2026 Venue: Sweet Melodies
Adelaide Heward-MillsHostThis morning, I want to talk to you about can a young person serve God? Can a young person serve God? You know, the Bible says, "How can a young man keep his way pure?" And then the Bible gives us the answer, "By guarding it according to the word of the Lord." So it means that it is expected that a young man should guard his way, and it is expected that the only way he's going to do that is to guard it according to the word of God.
And how can a young person guard his way according to the word of God if he doesn't know the word of God, have access to the word of God, and does not put himself in a place that he can be taught the word of God? The Bible says in 1 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration from God and is profitable for reproof, for correction, for instruction so that the young man will keep to it." Amen.
"And for training in righteousness." So the young man, young woman, young lady, young girl, young boy, even the old, have to build their lives on a foundation that is unshakable.
That foundation, unfortunately, is not your husband, is not your boyfriend, is not even your girlfriend, is not your parents.
And what happened is the Bible recalls that there was a very great storm.
That's the word, the adjective or adverb that the Bible uses, vehemently, which means very strongly.
Now, what intrigues me is that the wind didn't blow vehemently against just one house, but it blew vehemently against both houses.
The Bible says that there was thunder, lightning, everything you can think of, and the floods rose.
And what happened was that the house that was built on sand, it fell, and the one built on the rock, it stood.
So my beloved young people and anyone listening to me out there, I just want to say that the storms of life come to everyone.
You know, one of the verses I'm not so fond of in the Bible is the one that says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all." I'm not so excited about it, but it is true.
So when the floods rise and your house is not built on a solid rock, but it's built on social media, it's built on the glitz and the glamour you see, which by the way, a lot of them is false, because we all know you Photoshop.
You take a picture and you want the world to think the food you went to eat in that exotic restaurant was on top of the world.
And sometimes people would even use AI to project images that don't exist.
Sometimes and often we are under the barrage of these things and image building, you know, and we see people with designer bags and people living the life as we call it and or as we see it.
But if you went into the reality of people's lives, you may not want that.
