Okay, bismillah.
with the thought about what it takes for a person to achieve humility in their salah so what does that mean how does a person achieve humility in their prayer and it began by thinking about um you know what is the purpose of prayer how am i standing in prayer observing you know almost watching from outside of ourselves okay what is my prayer like how do i perform it And then he actually drew a really beautiful comparison where he said that, you know, if a person were to do any other deed, like whether it's charity or fasting or anything like that, and they weren't focused, they weren't locked in, then it wouldn't be as damaging to the deed, right? So a person can fast.
and they can not be thinking about fasting all day long, but they can still feel the fast, right? A person can give charity, and they don't necessarily have to be extremely dialed in, but once they give the charity, and they see the effect of the charity, and they see how it affected them, then that can be sort of like the fruit of that.
If a person doesn't focus during those five minutes, then it almost is like a waste of time, right? Meaning it could have been something much more beautiful, much more fruitful.
That was this section, right, where he said that if a person were heedless while paying zakat, it would still be powerful in terms of destroying their selfishness, fasting as well, etc., etc.
Okay, he said the prayer, however, is only invocation, recitation, bowing, and prostration, standing and sitting.
Like there's no other way to derive benefit from prayer except in those moments.
But for Salah, you only have those few minutes, four to five minutes where you have to derive the benefit.
