S5 - Ep 1 - A Room with a View

Now, like I said, it was December that we did the last episode of A Trip Down Duckett's Passage, and in that episode we looked at the last episode of series four.

Now, I think I finished that podcast by saying that my hopes going forward was that we were gonna do a recap podcast between series four and series five, where we could look at what had happened in series four before we go into series five.

Now, I've knocked that on the head, because I've not got time to do one standalone podcast, so what I'm gonna do today is we're gonna start off the podcast, we're gonna have a little recap.

We'll have a recap over series one to three, just to, you know, refresh our memories, and then we'll go over what happened in series four as well.

And then we'll have an episode review of series five, episode one today.

I would like to just also just say in this intro that I would like to thank all of the people that have kind of got in contact over the last six months, 'cause I've had people saying, "Oh, is the podcast coming back? Oh, please don't say it's ended." And I really appreciate that people have taken the time to get in touch and, you know, ask about the pod.

I'm just sorry that I've not been able toGet you some more content out sooner.

But I did say in all the messages that I've replied to that I do intend to come back, and that is why I'm here today.

But yeah, thank you very much for everybody that has got in touch.

I know it's been a while, but hopefully after today's episode, you'll agree that it has been worth the wait.

So without further ado, shall we begin? And I've just realized I'm so out of the loop here.

I've not even told you what the title of today's episode is that we're going to look at.

So it is Series 5, Episode 1, and the episode title is A Room with a View.

Now, before we go and recap Series 1 to 4, let's have a little overview of what we can expect in today's episode of Goodnight Sweethearts, Series 5, Episode 1, A Room with a View.

In today's episode, we are going to see Gary and Phoebe as they try and settle into their lives now that they are married and have their own little family on the go now that Michael has been born.

And as any new parents will know, they are struggling with the sleepless nights as it seems that Michael is teething at the moment.

And so Gary takes it upon himself as he tries to calm the little nipper by taking him for a nighttime walk.

However, a bomb lands on Duckett's Passage, which is disastrous for Gary, leaving complete carnage in the 1940s and complete uncertainty when it comes to the 1990s.

Now, as Gary worries about the future of Duckett's Passage, he feels that it's best to move his little family away from the Royal Oak and move to the West End instead, where they begin to rub shoulders with the upper class and somebody rather famous.
