Episode 20: Bad policy is bad policy

Yeah, two things I was going to mention.

First of all, we'll talk about this a little bit.

This is the fourth state within your footprint that's done that.

So first of all, they're shopping.

The merchants are coming at it from every state capital they can.

And you said this was the second year.

So I just want to, you know, not everybody's an advocate.

Not everybody works in advocacy.

So it's not like you swat this fly and it goes away.

It comes back over and over again.

And sometimes, you know, when we hike the hill or we go to GAC or you go to hike the hill in Washington or other states.

And you're like, why do we keep telling these same stories over and over again? It's because you have to.

You have new players and new representatives, and you have to tell that story.

New senators that have to understand these things over and over again.

It's a marathon.

It's a process.

It's not really, there's never an end to it.

So that's why I appreciate you, Joe, and all that you guys do out at Go West.

You touched a little bit on strategy.

What was the strategy? And if you feel like you need to dive into a little bit more, what was the strategy that you used to counter that bill in Colorado? And, you know, I'm guessing it's not the same strategy you used in the other states.

Walk us through how you have to approach that in the various capitals where you do your work.
