I was first introduced to this concept when I was in Yeshiva Nertz Yisrael, by my Rosh Yeshiva, B'Cheskel.

So he introduced me to this concept of Gutz Nomen, and I've always been enamored by it.

We had the meeting in Yeshiva, we started chapters five minutes early, and we continue that today as well.

But what is this Gutz Nomen? Where does this come from? Why would the day after Yom Kippur be called Hashem's name? So there is an Eshel Avram, in our Chaim, and he gives one explanation.

He says that throughout the Asar Samei Tshuva, we make a change in Shmai Na'esrei.

Once again, we're using Hashem's name in that bracha, and that is why we call today Gutz Namin.

During the Asar Samei Tshuva, we focus on Hashem as our King, HaMelech, and we spend the 10 days of Asar Samei Tshuva thinking about our relationship with Hashem, examining ourselves, trying to become better people, But now Yom Kippur is over.
