Now, what attracted you and your brand, Valerie, to Comedy Women In Print and Wit on the Page?
1:55
I suppose a couple of things.
1:56
We're a women's wellness brand.
1:57
We're focused on perimenopause, and so we're really passionate about supporting women and their careers, uh, entrepreneurship, f- following their passions and their heart.
2:06
But also, uh, one of the big values we have at Valerie is to, I suppose, really stand out from the crowd.
2:34
Yeah
2:34
... and bringing some humor to our customers through our marketing.
2:37
So yeah, aligning with Quip was really, [laughs] yeah, just felt like a, a dream partnership really because we could, yeah, talk a lot more about comedy and a lot of, uh, the campaigns we do are really humorous.
4:04
So to actually have the idea and really follow through with that, there must have been something really motivational there for you.
4:11
It was kind of a series of events, really.
4:13
And I mean, I'd gone to the doctors numerous times, had a number of different tests done.
4:17
Sent away and told everything was fine.
4:20
The solution from the female doctor was, do you want antidepressants? Which at that point I didn't.
4:25
Maybe a couple of years ago I might have needed them, but I'd done a lot of, I suppose, talking therapy and other types of holistic therapy.
4:33
And I came off the phone crying because her solution was try not to get so stressed.
9:14
Can you explain what that is?
3:36
Mm.
3:36
So I spent the last 20 years in the retail industry.
3:38
So I used to work in buying, uh, at Selfridges across accessories, fashion, and then lastly, head of beauty buying.
3:44
Um, and then, yeah, I've also had a consultancy business for the last, last eight years, um, and working with lots of different brands and retailers.
3:52
Everything from kind of big corporate retailers and brands to also a lot of startup brands as well with helping them to scale, how to, uh, navigate getting into retailers, and then once they're in, then trade with them as well.
4:03
Uh, and do a lot of business coaching as well for founders and entrepreneurs in general.
4:08
So yeah, I've kind of had, I suppose, have quite a varied career and enjoyed-
4:49
Mm
