Well, well, the whole thing is kinda crazy.

Uh, and, and, and what's unfortunate to me is I try not to give him and all this any energy at all.

My whole, my whole philosophy is not to give that fire any air at all.

And so, um, but one of the thing I was wondering, uh, even at the beginning of the administra- the second administration, is given sort of the anti-DEI, the anti-Bl- uh, how is he going to, how is this administration gonna screw around with sport? Particularly the NBA, the NFL, you know, which is, you know, 90% of the players are Black, big time college football, big time college basketball.

And, and, and by the way, the reason why, uh, big time football, college football ba- uh, is, is, is what it is now, is a multi-billion industry, is because of what? Young Black muscle.

That's...

Mm.

But do you think it's different emotionally for players when they win on a team that's been through an epic multi-generational drought like this or not really?

I think that's a great question, Brian.

And I think it's true.

I mean, you know, Towns grew up in New Jersey and I think Brunson kind of grew up in New Jersey and went to Villanova and all that.

No, I think that with this franchise, because it's the New York Knicks, it's New York City, I think the greatest city on earth, and knowing what this means and playing in the city, I think they absolutely, no matter how, I mean, this is a cruel business.

The sports industry is a cruel business.

You're with the Knicks today, and two years from now, you got traded.

And I don't know how much of a story that's going to still be when the Giants' actual season starts, but feelings were raw, and you can understand why.

They, they, you know, and, and at the end of the day, because New York fans know basketball.

They know basketball.

I think I spoke to Kenny Smith the other day, and he was saying even if Wemby would go off for, like, 40 points, grab 13 rebounds, block 10 shots, at the end of the day the fans will probably give him a standing ovation.

You know, because although they're heartbroken, they appreciate ball, and they appreciate greatness when they see it, whether it's Chamberlain, Kareem, Jordan, you know? And I think that Wemby is feeding off of that, you know? So, um, you know, it's, it's not the officials.
