For you, these last couple of years, how hard did it get for you? Was there ever a point where you're like, are we ever going to dig our way out of this and get to the other side?

Sure.

I think there's, you know, the intrusive thoughts of people's brains can be pretty wild.

And there are certainly moments where doubt creeps in.

You know, I'm inherently hard on myself already.

And there are certainly moments where you feel You feel the thoughts rushing in of like, oh my gosh, I'm failing.

And we're not getting there as quick as we want.

Maybe that doesn't matter all that much to you, but like, what are you trying to bring out of Jaron with this group?

So I think the easier things for people to discuss are usually offense, because there's so many more statistics attached to individual offense that we can say, hey, this has gotten better.

This has gotten worse.

But I think him taking a big jump on the defensive side and kind of being a spearhead of that is what's going to help our team the most.

The guards are the point of attack defensively.

They're guarding the ball usually as it's coming up the floor.

but just seeing, you know, maybe not necessarily a completely different side of him, because you spent a lot of time with over the past few years, but in a different element, you know, far away from home, far away from Utah, you know, with those three guys who are gonna obviously have a foundational partnership on the court, seeing that side of him, what was that like?

But where are you involved in the process of watching film and learning about his game and figuring out in your head, oh, these are ways that we could use him on our team?

Yeah.

We're so spoiled now in the world of basketball with how much access to film we all have.

I've watched a lot of Darren Peterson, I can tell you that much.

When the season, when our season ended, You know, it was about getting with Austin and our group here and trying to learn from them and get an understanding of all of the players that were going to be looked at in the process.

And then obviously after the lottery, That process narrows a bit when you understand where you fit in the draft.

But I took a lot of direction from Austin and our group here in terms of who they wanted me to focus on in terms of really digging in and watching.

What is the work that they're doing? They prepare to be playing late into the season as opposed to be just coming into the practice field to get them work.
