Matt
31:17
and I have made a bunch of projects over the years.
31:19
We've been working together for over 10 years, and we made a feature a couple years ago called Cash Cow.
31:27
We made a short before that called Here We Have Idaho, among other stuff that we've been involved with together.
31:33
And so this was sort of the next evolution of the work that we'd been doing together.
31:38
And we talked about it as Matt was shooting it.
31:40
I was, you know, I had a staff job at the time.
33:39
And then the more you sit on it and just become comfortable, it's like, Well, we have to find a way to build a framework around this that we can show this stuff and it is funny, I guess.

4:40
Can you tell me how you even got your start in show business?
4:43
Yes.
4:43
I grew up in Chicago, and after college I landed back...
4:46
I got a, a degree in film and television production from Indiana University, but after college, I was back in Chicago doing production stuff, post-work, mostly advertising, which is in Chicago, and I fell into Second City and IO.
4:59
It's the comedy schools over there.
5:01
So doing performing and writing and stuff, and then at night and on the weekends, I was asking all my comedy friends to say, like, "Hey, I've got equipment, and I know production skills," and I was like dipping the toe into trying to learn about filmmaking through filmmaking and through making stuff with friends.
5:19
And this is in like, I graduated college in 2006, so you know, in the advent of sort of a camera that's now affordable that looks good and Premiere Pro being suddenly, you know, workable on a laptop.

So obviously, you probably had more than 36 hours to work on Never Change, but when were you brought into the project? Was still in the writing phase? You know, was it already shooting? Where were you at?
1:54
Uh, what is it about and what brought you on board for, to the project?
1:58
So Never Change is a Hulu original comedy feature, story by John Reynolds and Marty Skasbo.
2:06
John was one of the four main cast members of Search Party, if anybody's seen that show, and Marty was a writer and director on Joe Pera Talks With You, which I also worked on with him as an editor.
2:18
We edited all of that show together.
2:20
And Never Change is the story of a North Meadows High School class of 2008 that has to go back to high school in 2026 due to a legal loophole that nullifies their high school degrees.
2:34
So how did I get on board? Marty and I had cut a, a, a couple seasons of Joe Pera Talks With You, three seasons of Joe Pera Talks With You, and, and then a number of other projects that we've worked on together as whether that's a short, like, sorta dumb, silly short films or, you know, some branded stuff.
2:49
And we, we are really great friends, and so we love to work together.
