Kaska HemphillCORRESPONDENT

Mm.
7:03
And nothing changed.
7:05
It just got worse.
7:07
What had happened in 2012 is that National Cycle Network One had been extended to run through the village, and overnight we had a massive increase in visitors and, um, people, um, w- were telling us that this village of ours was really not very nice at all.
7:26
Um, they really didn't like our public toilets, and one day we did have a visitor who was so upset that they said it was the worst place that they had ever set foot in.
7:38
And they actually looked at me directly and said, "Do you live here?" To which I said, "Yes." And they said, "Well, you should be ashamed of yourself." That came at a time when there were lots of concerns about how run down it had become, so we decided that we would carry out some consultation to look at what are the priorities of the community.
8:01
And everybody said, "Well, we're actually going to be 800 years old in two years' time." Nobody knows that.

We've started a consultation process which is-
5:43
So what's your favorite thing? If folks are like, Wendy, what's the perfect day at the water
5:49
park? Well, it's definitely different to work and play, for sure.
5:54
But yeah, I think floating down this river is a nice way to relax.
6:00
I think the cabanas are a great way to have those family memories.
6:05
I actually don't love heights, but I do love... thrills so I think the family rides are great because the neat thing about those is that it's a big raft it will hold up to six people so three to six people and you're kind of all looking at each other so you can you see the facial expressions you can hear the screams and I just think that's like a fun fun memory you over here on the a tower there's going to be a number of different rides over there and they're all a little different the one on the third level there is going to be either Paradise Plunge or The Plank, and those are the ones that are the body slides.
6:40
You know, the floor is going to drop out.
6:41
You're just going to go six floors deep, just screaming down, and those are really for your thrill-seekers.

6 MINS LATER

12:20
So on a given day, I always like behind the scenes, before the park opens, what does it take to get the park open on a daily basis? What's everyone doing to make sure everybody has a great time and stays safe while they're here?
