So tell us, how can the industry better protect single aging female homeowners? How are you going to do that?
4:22
So we start off with a lot of transparency.
4:25
So when you book an appointment with us, we send you a picture of the estimator that's going to be coming.
4:30
We're working on badges and some other identifiers, you know, so that there's a professionalism when they show up.
4:36
We always take pictures and transparently show what we saw on their roof and we help them understand what it means.
4:47
And I think that's really hard, you know, The average female, I mean, we see a ton of targeting of females, especially that have lost their spouse because the aging spouse group didn't really have a lot of skillset in home ownership.
5:01
And now suddenly they're faced with doing that.

What does it mean for consumers to vote with their dollars?
5:44
Wendy, in your market, what are you seeing really from the overall stability or instability and kind of what has changed in your market this year?
5:55
Yeah, so our workforce was greatly affected by ice and some of the attacks in our state.
6:02
We went from 18 refers down to eventually four because of people, not because people weren't legal, but because people were being hunted and my team was afraid.
6:14
And, you know, those kind of challenges we faced, we've got some challenges coming up from private equity, buying up companies locally and driving prices down.
6:24
And not that we're the $10,000 profit company, because there are those out there.
6:28
We're a reasonable priced company.
6:30
We give back to the community.

25 MINS LATER

But you got there.
15:09
To pivot the conversation a little bit here, who is the best boss you've ever had and what did they teach you?
15:17
Oh, my goodness.
15:18
I had a boss when I worked at Kaiser.
15:21
I was, like, 18 years old and very full of myself.
15:26
And I had this lady that I worked in.
15:31
So funny.
15:31
I worked as a quick copy clerk.
17:21
So that kind of like ties into my next question, which is what advice would you have for new people coming into the roofing industry or people that aren't in the roofing industry and are looking for work, looking for a career? What advice would you have for them?
