My God.

And I knew of, uh, I knew of his work from his underground stuff, Arcade magazine and stuff, and I'd been reading Comics Journal back in Nashville.

So I, I discovered he taught at School of Visual Arts.

And so [smacks lips] my first foray into New York, I, I, I stalked him, [laughs] showed him my stuff.

And he was like, just to get me off his back, I think, he was like, "Okay, well, w- you can sit in on my class, I guess." But he let me sit in illegally free at the School of Visual Arts for this car- comics class he was teaching.

That's where I met a bunch of other cartoonists.

And, uh, that didn't work out so good 'cause of my, uh, night job.
