A lot of people with dwarfism did find their way into... forms of entertainment, whether it was the so-called freak shows or circuses or other modes of performing.

But instead of just doing what everyone else was doing, because there were many, many other short performers in Europe at that time, they just relied on being short and standing up there and having people gawp at them.

Whereas the Ovitz family, they were like, no, we are performers.

And uh, she didn't immediately tell my mum about this because she was worried that she might offend her by saying, uh, "They need short people and I thought of Warwick." So she kind of held onto this, this information for a couple of days.

And they said, "Well, we've got everyone we need.
5:09
We were inundated with calls." I really, to this day, don't know what my mum said to them, but uh, they agreed to meet me.
