As you said, there are mental aspects too, and that can be long and ongoing.

Wade BurnsGUEST
It can be, and that's one of the inherent dangers of policing as well, is there's quite a large psychological trauma.

Wade BurnsGUEST
We go to events that I guess most people in their lives wouldn't attend, whereas police officers are attending multiple incidents that are quite traumatic.

Wade BurnsGUEST
So the association wraps our arms around our members, provide them support in the immediate incident, and then as this process unfolds moving forward.

Wade BurnsGUEST
But what delegates spoke about today was that, um, operational outcomes have deteriorated under the current model.

Wade BurnsGUEST
Um, there's significantly reduced proactive policing capacity as it increased reactive demand and I guess rising workload complexity.

Wade BurnsGUEST
It's also important to note that, um, delegates, uh, some nearly four years ago now, uh, met and passed a vote of no confidence in the district policing model itself, yet they're still under oper-- they're still operating under the same model.

Stacey LeeHOST
So what could the police commissioner or the deputy, um, have done, I guess, differently to ensure this no confidence motion wasn't voted up? What, what, what is it that you're calling for them To do better at
