it was the part in my brain that really likes organizing things was able to do it really efficiently So I worked for her for five years and the best thing was that she let me go on residencies if I got them.

So I would leave for two weeks to two months and I would have job security and come back and work in her studio and make large-scale wood sculptures.

And then after five years and so many residencies, I realized I think I need to go to grad school because there was this sort of lack in foundational education of sculpture that I knew I was missing.

So I went to Columbia University and their sculpture program.
