Is this prominent in the Pacific too?

It is indeed.

And in fact, Solomon Islands, where I'm joining you from, is one of the countries that has recorded the highest number of narco subs that just washed off in recent years.

And in fact, actually, a trend that we see more broadly vis-a-vis transnational crime in this region is the increased sophistication.

And that is really driven by the presence of organized criminals from other regions that have established models of pirandi.

And they're also very adept at identifying more permissive environments, identifying new routes where they find that they come under law enforcement pressure in one place.

They just find a different way to reach a market.

Are these all welcome steps in terms of countering this issue? And how expensive? And how costly could it be to try and set this out?

The particular, I'd just like you to just to g- maybe explore a bit more the particular vulnerabilities in the Pacific and why, why the Pacific seems to be, you know, not only, um, you know, such a peaceful place, particularly from above, but, but now almost the, the epicenter of, um, of movement of, of narcotics.

Uh, yeah, I mean, the, the changes over the past few years in the criminal landscape have been really, um, uh, in-incredible and very, uh, very concerning.

You know, for a very long time, the Pacific Islands have acted as transit points for, for drugs coming from Asia and Latin America, and destined for Australia and New Zealand, which as we know, are very, very lucrative drug markets.

If you want to sell your drugs, you definitely want to, uh, get a share of those markets because these are the places where drugs are the most expensive.

A-and so, um, the Pacific Islands being in the midpoint along those supply chains, of course, have been long used as transit points.

So Virginia, first, maybe just as a co-author, which was a pleasure, um, if you could, could lay out what we're, what we've been calling for.
